Weekly Digest

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Monday, your child will be performing his/her dance.  The weekend might be a good opportunity to review the dance one more time and practise some of the moves associated with it.  Each group is responsible for submitting this written piece as well:  Cultural Dance Project research page.

Thank you for the feedback you gave to your child regarding his/her writing last week.  I appreciate the time and energy you took to help with the writing.  I’m hopeful that the feedback has been taken to heart and will show in the finished piece, which should be done next week.

As I mentioned in last week’s Digest, students will be doing a book project that requires the use of a large cereal box.  Please save one or two as they are emptied in your household.  If cereal isn’t a part of your breakfast routine, I will have extras on hand.

Student Council, in honour of Eileen Clifford and her passing, is requesting gently used blankets and clothing for the Essex Salvation Army.  If you have anything to pass along, please send it to school with your child.

Wednesday is our assembly for the retiring Mr. Vincent.  We put together an impressive word cloud card with personalized messages on it.  Some students are interested in presenting the card to him and have been given a small passage to practise over the weekend.  Auditions are on Monday.  If you wish to join us for Mr. Vincent’s send off, the assembly begins at 8:45am on Wednesday.

    Hey Mr.Mepham,
    How’s your new school?
And how is dance going? 😃

Hi Amanda. The new school is good and I’m very happy. Thanks for asking! I’m missing your dance expertise but we just completed a research + performance of a cultural dance from elsewhere in the world. Not as good as your teachings, but enough to get the job done. What’s new at KE?

I’m glad to hear that and I’m sure those dances ended up looking great!
Nothing’s really new at King Edward for the most part but this week was a very very busy week with school events!
I’m definetly ready for the break as I’m sure everyone else is.
        Have a great March! 🙂
