Weekly Digest

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The week started off with a splash!  If you haven’t already seen them, there are a few photos posted from last Monday’s trip to Adventure Bay; just scroll back to Monday here on the blog to find them.  In addition to tying the trip to the active living curriculum, I gave the students a question on Tuesday’s math quiz asking them to cite examples of where math existed in the park.  Some of their answers (capacity of the pools, number of steps, pressure of the water, etc.) were pretty impressive.

Students in grade five used up their final research period for science today.  Starting next week, they will work on the project for their human body system.  Any materials needed for this project should be brought in on Tuesday.  The grade fours, meanwhile, have a small concept map to complete for Tuesday, some of whom have already finished.  By the start of May, we’ll be switching and it will be time for the fours to go into project mode, while the fives delve into a new topic with me.

A reminder that lunch orders for May are due on Tuesday morning.  No late orders will be accepted.

Enjoy the weekend!

I’m not really at a point where I can use it in the classroom, Isaac. The whole idea of student accounts is new and I prefer to wait until all the glitches are worked out before taking things like this on. I see you already have your account created so feel free to play around with it on your own in the meantime.
