Today, I sent home another field trip permission form, this one being for Gesstwood Camp. Please read the note attached to the form as it has important information about what the day entails. As in the past, if you’d like to tag along, simply indicate your interest on the permission form and/or send me a note via Class Dojo. The permission form is due Friday.
As the year continues to wind down, I find I’m in a pinch to get everything done (typical of every year at this time). If it seems we’re speeding through some things, it’s because we are! While homework will get lighter and lighter as June draws near, students are encouraged to review work as needed to stay on top of their skills.
I would like to clarify the rules regarding the use of personal electronic devices in the classroom as there have been a few cases of misuse by some. Students are allowed to bring devices to school under the following conditions:
- They have parents’ permission.
- They are to use it only for research purposes at designated times.
- Students are responsible for their device’s security.
It is rule #2 that has been abused on occasion. If I find a student using his/her device without permission or for purposes other than intended, I will confiscate it until the end of the day. I’ll notify you via Class Dojo and the student’s privileges will be removed. Currently, only the grade fours are in the “research phase” of their projects so no grade fives need bring any technology to school at this point. Thank you for your support with this.
Enjoy the long weekend!
