Weekly Digest

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you to those who took the time to review your child’s first memoir drafts.  I have since read the revised copies, and a second revision and edit will take place next week after conferencing with each student.  Very soon, the students’ work will be done and I will begin the task of assembling the magazine.  Please send along any photos you may have that will complement your child’s writing.  It doesn’t necessarily have to be a picture from the exact moment.  For example, if your child wrote about getting a new pet, a recent picture of the two of them would suffice.

Speaking of the magazine, I would like to acknowledge and give a big “THANK YOU” to Mr. Justin Kowalczyk (Caleb’s dad) who made a very, very generous donation of $400 to put toward the printing costs.  This will be a big help to alleviating costs to the students for their own copies.  Until the print run is ready, I won’t know final costs but more details will follow as the project develops.

Students were presented with a project in science today.  Please afford your child some time to research his/her chosen system in the human body.  Class time will be provided, of course, but additional time outside of school will be needed too.  A copy of the project requirements should be in your child’s Reminder Binder under Projects.

Enjoy the Family Day weekend!
