I say we should have homework because it is sometimes extra which can help with grades

I don’t think it’s worth it, a lot of people either don’t finish it or forget it at home and sometimes make up excuses of why it’s not done so you would waste time taking up work that only a few people have finished. Also you said that our class is behind in math and probably because were wasting time taking up work that a 1/4 (a quarter) of the class is actually finished so we’d catch up in class if we didn’t have homework and if people wouldn’t talk during class.

Interesting perspective, Haily. I don’t see any time sharing work as “wasted”. It’s meant to confirm if what you’ve done is correct, to ensure you know what you’re doing. That said, I do see a lot of students actually check their work, or ask about where they went wrong. Maybe there’s another way I should go about doing it…

You have a good point but some of the class just doesn’t do the work because they don’t hink they have to. Are you ging to punish people if they don’t do yhere work more than just taking away points.

I guess the punishment for some will be a lack of understanding when it comes to assessment time. By grade five, I would expect students to be responsible with what little homework they have.
