The Read-a-thon came to a close today and I’m pleased to report that we brought in a total of $883, which shattered our goal of $616. This also means that 6M has earned all three incentives. We spent the morning fulfilling our end of the deal by walking to Sadler’s Pond, and later in the afternoon, by reading, reading, reading. All the funds raised through this event go right back to the students through sports, clubs and school activities. Thank you for your support! Money and forms can still come in on Monday so it’s not too late to add a little more to the pile.
Our trip to Fighting Island is on Wednesday the 26th. Permission forms will go home on Monday. Due to limited time on the island, we must depart ahead of the school day. Please make arrangements to have your child at the school no later than 7:45. We cannot wait for any later-comers as the ferry to the island runs on a strict schedule. We will return before the school day ends, however, so students will follow their typical dismissal routines. I’ve had about five parents express interest in joining us but there is room for more if you’d like to come along. The maximum capacity is 35. Just contact me through Class Dojo if you’d like to be added to the list.
6M got a sneak peek at our new line of spirit wear today. While the official launch takes place on Monday, I gave my students the information today, which means you’re free to browse and buy from the online store. These items were designed by yours truly (hence the perk for 6M) and I’m excited to see what the student response is.
Have a wonderful weekend!
