We have our first big math test scheduled for Tuesday. This is a unit test covering all number sense concepts since the beginning of the year. From what I can tell, students understand the process of what we’ve learned. Their errors are largely due to miscalculation, or “careless errors”, as I like to call them. Those who have a lesser understanding of their number facts seem to fall into this trap more than others. Knowing those facts truly helps the process when the work becomes more complicated. Yesterday, I posted a practice sheet that is optional (it includes an answer key). On tonight’s post, you’ll find a sample test from the last time I taught grade six. Although it doesn’t cover everything we’ve done this year, it’s a good warm-up for what’s to come next week. I’ll post the answers on the weekend.
Short week = short Digest! This is all I’ve got for you for now. Enjoy the weekend!
